SailSimXL is dinghy/yacht sailing simulator for the iPad that can be used as a learning and teaching aid for sailing.

SimSailXL is the iPad only stream of the SailSim product and will continue to be developed to include a whole load of new teaching aids.

You can set the wind direction and then see how changes in boat heading effect the set of the sails, centerboard and boat speed. As you turn the iPad (boat) the wind direction stays constant relative to the boat and the sails adjust and change shape as they would do in real life. This can be used to demonstrate key principles of sailing to students. You can override the set wind direction with a touch of the screen as explained below. To set the wind direction, press the i button, point the iPhone into wind, hold it there and press 'Done'.

SailSimXL also features 'Gravity Wind'. In this mode the wind acts in the direction of gravity (i.e. top down) so as you rotate the iPad in front of the class the relative wind direction changes to anable you to point out teaching items.

SailSimXL shows you:
o Boat Heading
o Centerboard (Daggerboard) position
o Boat speed for each sail angle
o Boat tack
o Point of sail
o Wind direction - as compass direction and arrows
o Relative wind position (as you would see on an instrument)
o Gravity Wind (for teaching a class)

Keywords: Sailing, dinghy, sail training, navigation, sail, compass, sailing simulation, sailing game, iPad.

SimSail works best with the iPhone 3GS but will also work with any iPhone or iPod touch.

iPhone 3GS - with this hardware, your iPhone turns into a sailing boat. You can set the wind direction and then see how changes in boat heading effect the set of the sails, centerboard and boat speed. iPhone 3G/2G/iPod Touch - as this hardware does not have a compass, you have to manually tell the SailSim where the wind is blowing from by touching the screen. Using the mast as the center point, touch the screen around the boat to set the wind direction. The wind indicators will show you where the wind is blowing from.

NavStation is a utility to aid boat navigators. It uses the iPhone 3G's in-built GPS to fix a position and then displays this in three common formats - Decimal Degrees (d), Degrees + Decimal Minutes (D m) and Degrees + Minutes + Decimal Seconds (D M s). This allows for very simple plotting of positions on paper charts.

Nav Station also shows Course-Over-Ground (COG) in ∞(T), Speed-Over-Ground in kts as well as providing the time stamp of the latest fix.

GPS status is provided if off, acquiring a fix or fix accuracy strays outside 50 meters.

It offers both a day mode and a night mode for navigators wishing to preserve their night vision. Modes are switched by swiping the screen horizontally.

Battery life of the iPhone is also maximized by allowing for auto shutdown of the GPS hardware between fixes.

GPS hardware can also be manually toggled by swiping vertically.

VitalStatistics is a utility for globe trotters, travelers, fashion gurus, personal shoppers and just about anybody who ever buys shoes, clothes or jewelry when away from their home country. VitalStatistics is a cross between a database and a conversion utility that lets you store the 'VitalStatistics' of friends, family, colleagues or customers in your home units and then convert these to a wide variety of foreign units at the touch of a button. Indispensable if you regularly shop abroad for yourself, your boss, your clients or your significant other!

VitalStatistics allows you to set your 'home' units as US/Canada, UK, EU, Japan, Australia or New Zealand and then convert between these and many others. It converts tops size, bottom size, dress size, bra size, shoe size, hat size and ring size for women and suit size, shirt size, collar size, waist measurement, chest measurement, inside leg, shoe size, hat size and ring size for men. It also allows you to store fragrance preferences and add a note to each record.

Key words: Database, conversion, personal shopper, fashion, traveller, globe trotter, personal assistant.

LedOTronFree (Green Icon) and LedOTron (Red Icon) are touch sensitive, retro sequencers for easy music making and fun.

Simply touch one of the red LEDs on the LedOTron matrix and when the beat marker comes by, a sound is played. Touch two LEDs in the same beat and a chord is played - it's as easy as that to make 8 (free) or 16 beat patterns and loops.

The line of green LEDs to the left select the voice to use - 2 voices in the free version, 5 in the paid version. Voices are: Antique piano (very atmospheric), drum kit, synth (paid only), tenor sax (paid only) and fantasy mix - a pad of fantastical sounds to make your own sci-fi sound track.

The controls to the right provide the follwing functions from top to bottom: start/stop, clear matrix, increase pulse, decreace pulse, enable/disable beat line.

LedOthel is a retro LED version of the classic strategy game of 'Reversi' or 'Othello' as it is sometimes known. This is a fantastic game that is simple to learn but is difficult to master! You play as green and the iPhone/iPod touch plays as red.

The object of the game is to trap your opponent's LEDs (red) between your own (green) either horizontally, vertically or diagonally. When you do this, all your opponents trapped LEDs turn green and become yours. If you create more than one row with your piece placement, all trapped opponents LEDs will change! Throughout the game, pieces constantly change sides until either no one can go, all spaces are taken or all of one player's pieces are gone! Sounds easy? Give it a try!

Who moves first?
You do. You are green.

How do I play?
You play a piece by touching an LED on an unoccupied square. This puts one of your piece into that square. The idea is to trap one or more opponents' pieces between two of your pieces. Those opponents' pieces then change color to become your pieces.

What if I get stuck and I can't move?
If you can't move, your opponent gets to move again.

How do I win?
When both you and your opponent cannot play another piece, or if every square on the board is filled, the game is over. The side with the most pieces is the winner. Your iPhone/iPod touch will count for you.

What if I need help?
Just wait about 15 seconds and your iPhone will give you a hint!

This is the free version of LedOthel, the paid version LedOthelPro has selectable AI skill levels, ability to turn hinting on an off and no adverts!
